Employment types explained:
  • Employed Permanent - Working minimum of 16 hours per week, in Permanent Employment, NOT on a fixed term contract, and paying Income Tax under Schedule E via PAYE.
  • Employed fixed contract - Working for a minimum of 16 hours per week, on a fixed term contract that has not provided 12 months continuous service with the same employer.
  • Self Employed - Working for a minimum of 16 hours per week, in business on your own account or in Partnership.
  • Partnership - Working for a minimum of 16 hours per week, in a business Partnership.
  • Director - Working for a minimum of 16 hours per week, as a Director of a Private Limited Company, where you together with your spouse, co-habitee, civil partner, parent, child, brother or sister, together own 10% or more of the issued Share Capital of the Company that employs you
